Keep in mind that these prices are in 1,000 lots. Still, you should be able to choose between a X6850 and a Q6700 for about $300. Intel is DEFINITELY in it to win it with these coming prices.

Hmm a $300 Intel Quad-core or a $800 Phenom. Gee, which am I going to get..

I am no fan boy, my previous system was built 3 and 1/2 years ago with an FX-51. I loved it. But how in the heck is AMD going to compete with a sub 300 Quad Core?

Well, it's all about gaming for many of us and as far as gaming is concerned E6600 is a better find then Q6600... To little apps can use take the full advantage of Quad Core at this point and that will not likely change any time soon.

Now how AMD is gonna compete VS a sub 300$ E6850 running @ 3.0 Ghz and (lets dream for a moment) overclockble to 3.8/4.0 on air is a mistery to me :)

Wtf?? Damnit, I don't want to wait that long! I guess I'll still get my xeon 3060 at the end of the month as planned :( Nice price cuts though! If only nVidia would make similar cuts now... GTX for $300 anyone? :p

Ninja, Tanker and Darious, yeah, I do want a dual socket really bad, but then again, that lust cannot possibly compare to my desire for the "original" socket...
