I accidentally let the battery run down on my Pocket PC. I tried to restore
it using Active Sync, but I get an error message about the restore file, "The
selected back-up file is not valid, please select another one." Is there
anyway that I can ge tthe data back?

It could be that you need to set the time zone on the PDA to what it
was before, when you took the backup. I've had this where it's said
it's for a different device - but when I set the region and timezone
on the PDA correctly, it worked fine.

Yes I nearly had a heart attack when I first saw that message. Luckily
it is documented in the help file.

The same region and time zone that was present before the batteries went
dead.
