Okay, so i'm getting all ready to build my PC. I'm guessing i'm gonna go with the GTX after all the waiting of the R600..

Just wondering if the price of the GTX will drop anytime soon within a few days or something, or are the price drops just gonna be for the GTS?

Also, i was thinking of going for the KO3 edition of whatver, is it worth the cooling? or is it better to get that Thermalright/take or whatever it is Part that you can attatch to the GTX and does that make it more cool? or can you add both or something?

if the 8800 GTS prices will drop, when can be expected those drops?

actually I was going to buy the EVGA 8800GTS 320MB, but it has increased its price  , it was before at 280 and now it's 300. thank god that the dollar is reaching historical low levels (2000 pesos for dollar) compared with the colombian peso :)

*sorry for my english*

How about the

"EVGA E-GEFORCE 8800GTX KO ACS3 PCI-E 626MHZ 768MB 2.0GHZ GDDR3 Dual DVI-I HDCP HDTV Out Video Card"

Is it worth the money then a regular one, i mean does it cool a few degrees? Also, if I got the KO ACS3, would I be able to attatch the Thermalright HR-03-PLUS (8800 GTX) VGA Cooler to it, or should I get a Regular GTX and just add that cooler onto it? Just asking it here rather then making a new Topic with all the other 8800's vs R600 lol

In EVGA terms:
ACS3 means it already has an upgraded cooler.
KO means its vendor overclocked so that you don't really have to overclock it.

oo so i wouldn't have to get a Thermalright HR-03-PLUS? well is it worth the extra $$$?

Seems better then getting an Ultra and cheaper also lol

Hey Trunks!
If you can afford that monster, get it as soon as possible!
ACS3+KO= happy you!
It has an advanced cooling plus it overclocked like hell!
And don't count on price drop as the HD2900XT is no match for the 8800 GTX/Ultra!
It worths every $.
ACS3 Rocks!

Dont get the overclocked 8800 GTX. Its a waste of money like every other overclock card.

Get the HR-03 Plus. Its the greatest GPU cooler on earth.

Track is right, the ac3ko whatever version is a waste of money. You can overclock a regular GTX to be just as fast in about 2 minutes. So you're only paying $100 extra to have them punch some holes in the plastic shroud for you. Though, I guess if you are going to dump all that cash on a processor that will cost $500 by the time most software can make use of it, you might as well get it. As for your hard drive: :? Why get all that badass gear and stick it with that? Thats like taking a highly tuned massively turbocharged 4 cylinder v-tec civic engine and sticking it in a 1983 ford pickup. Get two raptor 150's for your raid 0 array and get a 500gb drive for your storage.

So I should get a E6700, then use the money saved from that and get 2 Raptors 150 and get a 500 for storage? or would it be better to just get that QX6700 or a X6800?

Buy an E6600 for 200$
Use the other 800$ for a second 8800 GTX.

Stupid rich ppl make me so angry!

Don't get me wrong, the QX6700 is a great processor, and it's better than the X6800 but if you're worried about saving a few bucks on the vid card, it might not be the best choice. Personally, I would go for the E6600 for ~$230 and use the cash for something else. The QX6700 is very expensive at ~$950 and not many programs can even make use of all 4 cores. By the time quad core becomes mainstream and most software is multithreaded the new Penryn cores will be out and the QX6700 will most likely see a steep drop in price. If you must have a quad core right now, the Q6600 is a great alternative at just over half the price. And yes, 2x raptors in raid 0 will outperform 2x 7200 rpm drives; I just can't reccomend the core 2 extreme processors unless you need to impress your friends with 3dmark scores or something.
