I was wondering if I uninstalled windows xp pro from my computer if i could then use it on a different computer?

Usually not. Microsoft takes a snapshot of your hardware when you activate it, if you try and reactivate it after install and it's different, it may not go through. Usually it's 1 device per key, not 1 user per key. I know.. it kinda sux.

It depends on whether you have a Retail version of XP Pro or an OEM version. According to the Microsoft EULA, Retail versions can be transferred from one computer to another but the OEM version is tied to the motherboard of the first computer it was activated on.

Microsoft's Private Folder application may not be so private

Yesterday we wrote about Microsoft's free Private Folder 1.0 application that encrypts and password protects a folder on a desktop. According to our research and the astute eyes of one of our readers, the contents of the folder may not be so private. Johnny Granlund emailed us saying that he was able to access the folder simply by rebooting into Safe Mode.
