Everyone seems to have their own way you write in your path for instructions such as: IE 7 > tools (menu) >Internet options > General (tab)

I'd preferably like a resource to read or see.

I do not believe there is any type of general rule or proper way to write a path for instructions on how to use a certain application.

As a matter of fact, everybody seems to use their own method.

Microsoft and Apple don't use any type of "file path" at all. In fact, they explain where you should go and make important information in bold.

You will see a Microsoft or Apple tutorial written in such a manner:

Here's another way to open Disk Cleanup:

1. Click the Start button.
2. In the Search box, type Disk Cleanup
3. In the list of results, click Disk Cleanup.
-------------------------------------------------------

Other methods that many people use include:

-------------------------------------------------------
Here's another way to open Disk Cleanup:

Click Start-->All Programs-->Accessories-->System Tools-->Disk Cleanup
-------------------------------------------------------

OR

-------------------------------------------------------
Here's another way to open Disk Cleanup:

Click Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Disk Cleanup
-------------------------------------------------------

So, the point that I am making here is that there is no right or wrong way to writing the path to a certain function. In the end, it all depends on the writer, the subject he is writing on, and his personal preference.

Hope this helps,
Nate

I | agree | I | find | this | to | be | the |easiest.
If used correctly (only while showing commands) I find it the easiest
to follow along.
Especially when using a long path such as in regedit.
