That EVGA 680i and the Quad Core chips, i have read there are a bunch of problems with over clocking them. I assume they run fine with out over clocking, but the company has been replacing people's mother boards. I wish i had the link for you.
The "ACS3" version of that video card is cheaper for a reason, it has an inferior cooler which does not exhaust outside the case, but rather inside. With the heat generated by a 8800GTX you better have a windtunnel inside your case if you're going to exhaust the heat from inside.
Try some G-Skill, Patriot, or Mushkin RAM, NCIX has them all in good flavours and at good prices, all just as good as the Corsair overpriced RAM.
There are better 680i motherboards around now, check around some other manufacturers, Asus P5N32-E SLI is a nice board, I can vouch for it.
I dunno about the CPU cooler, it isn't even released yet, looks promising though. It can use 140mm fans, but I don't know how easy they are to buy.

Well I got a pretty good Case so i'm sure it will be fine. As for the ram, do you have any recommendations on the ram part? if you can provide links from http://www.ncix.com/
Quad is NOT a bad thing. They are likely NOT in the know or are somewhat jealous that someone could spend that much on a proc.
Don't worry about that purchase. I could turn you away from that specific Quad if the Penryn or the Barcy/Phenom versions were on their way out (soon).
People will say that you do not NEED quad. Truly very few actually do. However you will be making a longer term purchase than the dual..
Yeah some of the duals are cheaper and overclock like a banshee but the quad overclocks well too and will leave you ready for the time that other software releases with multi-core support.
Please read these threads to answer some of your questions:
Pay particular attention to the links on the first post. They should help you quite a bit and they were NOT written by me or anyone else from these forums.

Hope that helps.
What about what this guy said in my other topic:
"Track is right, the ac3ko whatever version is a waste of money. You can overclock a regular GTX to be just as fast in about 2 minutes. So you're only paying $100 extra to have them punch some holes in the plastic shroud for you. Though, I guess if you are going to dump all that cash on a processor that will cost $500 by the time most software can make use of it, you might as well get it. As for your hard drive: Confused Why get all that badass gear and stick it with that? Thats like taking a highly tuned massively turbocharged 4 cylinder v-tec civic engine and sticking it in a 1983 ford pickup. Get two raptor 150's for your raid 0 array and get a 500gb drive for your storage."
Is he right about the Raptors thing?
O yeah, am I able to add a Thermalright HR-03-PLUS onto my already AC3ko GTX? AND as for my CPU Cooler, should I add another 120fan to my cart?
I can not speak to AC3KO as I do not have any info...
Asus and MSI (maybe some others) are making 8800GTXs with stock water..
They are factory OC and are said to run well...
As far as the dual Raptors go.. Of course everyone would like to have dual Raptor 150s in raid 0 but they are expensive. The combo you have will suffice quite nicely.
I would add a third drive/external (not part of the raid) for some data integrity though (1 drive in a raid 0 fails the data on both drives is lost).
That is all I would add.
I would wait also on the extra fan. You may want to go with some quieter fans like the Noctura series later... Just monitor your temps and verify yourself IF you need the extra.

Well i'm not going for totally quiet, just as long as its not so loud that its annoying lol i'd take a little noise for better cooling.
My personal last build (long time ago) was with an Antec Sonata case. The Sonata was one of the first cases fully developed to be quiet.
I am getting ready to replace the old tired rig that is in my sig...
I am just very patient and want to see how the Barcy pans out before I purchase. I have been waiting for the past 9 months now just watching the new processor archs shake out.
