I know there was already a thread about this but i really need some direct answers since i didn't really understand that thread. I have 4 GB of ram and i have a DX10 card so i am gonna upgrade to vista. I heard that gaming has better performance on 32 bit but 64 bit seems to fun alot faster. Any advice on what to run?

32bit is slightly faster than 64bit in the majority of games, but 64bit is a very solid OS and has a strong following.

Unless you live and die by your frames per second, 64 bit may suit you well.

I say may because there may be a chance that you may have an older printer, monitor, flux capacitor, etc that doesn't have vista 64 drivers. Most of your major companies and recent mainstream products should be covered though. Like my four year old printer is

I have Vista 64 and 4GB and happy with it. If you have recent machine, it will be fine. With 4GB, better have 64. It's the future anyway.

I said that many times: Find a Vista 64CD, install it (no key or activation -> become a trial), try it for up to 30 days and see by yourself.

This goes for most things atm, 32bit is more supported and compatiable were as 64bit can be used for creating a powerful rig...if your willling to have a few incompatiability issues here and there
