i just got some logitech 5.1 surround speakers from work which i plugged into my P5KC mobo. i dual boot with vista x64 and xp mce. the surround sound works in xp, utilizing all of my speakers. but in vista, only the front left and right play the audio... unless i use speaker fill in the realtek drivers but it doesnt sound as good.

when i game it uses all the speakers, so i know theyre all plugged in properly and that vista does realise that theyre plugged in.

how do i get it to play in 5.1 mode all the time!??! thanks

Vista 64 has some issues with sound cards. I had to quit using my Asus P-35 MB onboard sound and by a X-FI to get my surround sound working again. It was well worth the $80 IMO. The surround sound is awesome now. However after I installed SP1 I had to re-install the Sound driver again because SP1 messed it up but works ok again.

I have Vista and now my Surround sound and all 6 speakers work perfectly.
