Getting windows drivers to work with linux?

I recently installed opensuse on my laptop,(had vista before) my wireless internet does not work. I assume this is because the drivers are missing for the wireless card.

Should i use ndiswrapper to get them to work?

how do i install it on my laptop without a connection?

thanks

  1. Can you give details of your laptop. Make and model and (if known) wireless chipset used.
  2. dell inspiron 1525, Broadcom BCM94312MCG wireless card.

    thanks for the reply
  3. It does seem that you need to use ndiswrapper with OpenSuSE and that chipset. Have a look at this thread.

Without a network connection you'll have to download the appropriate files on another computer and transfer them via a CD or a USB stick.

    Good luck!
