I have a 200GB HD with XP home, with over half of that space being used. I'm backing up important files so that I can format the HD and install XP Pro 32bit.

1. Should I format the HD before I do this?

2. If I backup my iTunes library, will I be able to get it back when XP Pro is installed?

3. Should I just keep XP home?

I also have a 320GB HD that I plan on putting Vista Ultimate on. I think the only reason I want to format the 200 and install XP Pro is because the XP Pro was free and that 200GB has become cluttered and I think it needs formatted to help with performance. So let me know what you think.

Thanks.

Unless you're planning on joining a Windows Domain, there's no advantage to XP Pro.

Just copy the contents of your I-tunes so when you format you acan copy and paste over the new folders.

The main reason for XP Pro I believe is for remote access. Other than that not sure why you would want to switch.
