WMP burning music cds, but all songs are on 1 track

A friend of mine at work asked me a question. I don't use Windows Media Player to burn cd's so I was hoping someone on here may have run into this problem.
(tried searching the web, but couldn't find anything - I'm probably not phrasing it right)

PROBLEM: When he uses WMP to burn a music cd the song's are apparently merged somehow into one track. Thus when he puts the cd in a radio/cd player the music plays as one long track and he cannot select individual tracks.
He says this is a new problem and that it was "working before".. also he has tried numerous burns and more than one radio/cd player.

Anyone run into this? I'm thinking maybe he selected some option to "burn as one track" or something.
