A good intro to BSD.

I am not exactly a noob, but I'm no power-user either. Is there a distro that is as user-friendly as Arch? Yes, Arch is a power-user's distro, but it's documentation is very thorough, which makes installation and setup a lot easier. So I suppose a better question is, "Is there a BSD with good installation documentation?"
Also, what are the major differences between BSD and Linux?

  1. There's several differences and some similarities.

Since I don't have time to write a book on the subject and there isn't enough room here, please shoot over to wikipedia :)

There are some great free books about FreeBSD. Have a look at this site. One of my favourite (non-free) books is Absolute BSD by Lucas. And there is The Design and Implementation of the 4.4 BSD Operating System, but that goes into a little deeper detail than, I guess, you want.
  3. Thanks guys.
