Hi there I have been trying all night to install Ubuntu onto an old computer "HP Pavilion Media Center TV m7590n Desktop PC" (cant find much more info about the comp).
How ever i am getting 2 errors, first is system fan not working press F2 to continue (everything is running fine in bios), second is the fact that i cant get past "Bootmgr missing press Ctrl Alt Del to restart".
I have the 250 gig hard drive in 2 partitions 1 at 50 gig and the other at 200, there is no operating system installed on the hard drive at the moment.

I have googled the problem and found nothing with the problems I am having.
I have not even got to the first steps in installing Ubuntu because bootmgr missing is coming up first.

Any help would be greatly aprecieated.

Thanks for looking

Splendid
You've got to bust into your bios and change the boot order to boot from cd first so you can boot from your ubuntu cd.

F1, F2, F10, F11, F12, DEL or TAB ought to help, try'em all.

Don't forget to change the fan.

Good luck :)
