Hello, I am trying to install windows XP professional on a Skulltrail platform and although it boots from the CD, it wont start. The installation disc freezes right after it loads basic resources and before you can select what drive to install windows on, always stopping a "Setup is starting Windows"

the specs of my system are:

two 3.2Ghz Xeon Quad core CPUs (1600Mhz Bus)
8GB DDR2-800 FB-DIMMS
5 Western Digital 500gb SATA hard drives
Two Radeon HD 3870X2 Crossfire
1200 Watt Thermaltake Toughpower
Lite-On DVD+/-RW

Windows Vista, Vista 64bit, Ubuntu Server 64-bit, Windows Server 2008 all install perfectly fine except for Windows XP Professional 32bit and I can't fathom why not. Has anyone else had success installing windows XP on a similar system?

Thanks,
Omar

I hade the same problem but with 2 9800 GX2 cards. I had to remove one to install XP then replace it but not connect up the sli cable until the new hardware had added drivers for it. dont no if this will work for you but give it a try see what happens. :-)
