Any advice is welcome, but I'm beginning to fear, that it just doesn't exist. There's drivers for the disk controller on your motherboard which talks to the hard disk not the hard disk itself. If your controller isn't detecting the drive Linux isn't going to be able to use it, nor is any other operating system for that matter. Please post your full hardware specs.
