I need a router that will work with my thinkpad t60 that uses an a/b/g wireless card with atheros chipset. It should also work with the xbox wireless adapter since I stream alot of videos to XBMC. Can someone make some recommendations? I have a Linksys WRT54G and have been experiencing dropped signals with it frequently on both ubuntu, pclinuxos and windows. My wired computers are 10/100/1000 and I am looking for speed as the primary concern.
Ok what I would try first is installing dd-wrt (check if its compatible) onto your router. It's an alternative firmware that would prevent the drop outs. Or if you don't want it mail it to me. If you still are having issues I suggest a DI-634M (I have one works great) if your thinkpad t60 has an atheros chip it prolly supports super g which would give you 108 mbps in real life (30-40mbs). Everything else not arthos will be regular g. I currently stream wireless to my xbmc box from the basement no stutters at all and full signal. Does not drop below 3 bars unless I go outside. In my appartment even with 7 networks around me it still worked although there were some stutters with xbmc. I guess unless you go draft n 5 ghz though there will always be some interference.
