I stopped going to that site (which was merely for a good chuckle) the day he started letting people make racist statements and not deleting the posts. He's the biggest loser and moron on the 'net.
ROFL, that was probably the best comparison of the two I have ever seen. LOL, I am goin to mention that to my roommate...(huge AMD/ATI fanboy) im sure he will get a kick out of that. As long as they are on the same die its all good to me. Im not a fan of ducktape, lol hell I had an early AMD Dual Core before this so I should be used to some form of glue anyways...lol
As much of an AMD supporter as i am, wtf. How does a 2900xt put a GTX to shame?
...
I think he meant to say 8800 GTS and ejaculated when he saw the Daily Tech Benchmarks a few weeks ago. As configured I don't think it's meant to compete directly with the 8800GTX because of the pricepoint ($440) and memory (512mb).
It sure has body-slammed prices on the 8800GTS, though. EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 640MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP is now $335 shipped from The Egg

8800 has been selling for months. People who bought 8800's aren't going to buy a 2900XT. They trade blows on performance from what i've seen.
If the 2900XT was £20 cheaper than the GTS i'd consider buying it. But its not.
Generic 320MB 8800 GTS's are selling for £180
BFG 320MB 8800 GTS's are selling for £190
Generic 640MB 8800 GTS's are selling for £225
BFG 640MB 8800 GTS's are selling for £260
Generic 2900 XT £270
Sapphire 2900 XT £290
Tell me again...why would I want to buy this card 8O
Another £60 buys a GTX or just get the 320mb GTS which is still proving to be the best card for price perf.
I think AMD's seemingly painful 1Q07 was Hector's plan. By taking a huge hit in 1Q07, AMD builds massive amount of inventory to flood Q2 -- those $59 X2 3600s just keep coming wave after wave. Then in Q3, K10 is out to push all of Intel CPUs down below $100 (except QX6700, which will be sold at $125). Intel's planned price cut in July is too little-- they only cut 50%, they need a 75% cut.
...no wonder Rahul Sood commented, "...except for that guy who writes the Journal of Pervasive 64 bit Computing blog, what on earth is he smoking?"...
Yea, Intel's quads may be glued, but im getting a Q6600 for $266 in july regardless...lol!
Glue! You hit the nail on the head; this guy's a freakin glue head.
Maybe AMD could do a TV advert with this guy walking the pavement like a street prophet tweaked out of his head on glue, with a sandwich board strapped to his body that proclaims that the end of the world is nigh for Intel and all should repent and buy AMD CPUs. He could be screaming BUY AMD at the top of his voice. That should reassure the investors.
My medication has worn off, I need to go and lay down now…
"AMD is indeed in an enviable position (I corrected a spelling error)"
Yeah, being on bottom is always best, as long as your not bottom's up.
"I re-iterate my projection that Intel BK by 2Q08."
With all the major computer manufacturers using Core2 for the business offerings, bankruptcy is no where in the picture.
"Once K10 is out, Intel CPUs should all be sold at below $125. We all know this: Intel quad is not really 4, is more like 2.5."
Would make sense for all Intel chips to be below $125, since all AMD chips already are under $100. (Facetious.)
Intel quad core chips are more like 3.55. Think the typo on his end needs to be fixed.
"AMD HD 2900XT put Nvidia 8800 GTX to shame"
If they were a hundred dollars less, they'd put the 8800 GTS series to shame, hands down, no questions asked. As is, not that bad of a buy. If I had the money, I'd go for them over the GTX at this time, just because they seem to be a better buy right now.
