In the bios I have these options for suspend S1 POS only, S3 only, Auto. So far the only one that I can use is S3 and that puts my computer in a state where the display shuts off and hard drives are shut off. When I try auto or S1 it goes throught the process of going into a lower power state than it starts up again and takes me into the login screen. So the only low power mode that works for me is S3.

I would like it if the computer went to sleep like my macbook does when I close the lid and is ready for action within seconds of opening the screen. Is that possible on a vista machine? What settings in the bios and windows power management should I use?
