Missing ntdlr on xp create boot on windows7

I went to start my laptop hp pavilion dv2000 windows xp last night and it wouldnt boot "missing ntdlr" press ctrl alt delete to restart. I need to make a boot disc but i am on a windows 7 computer the only other on i have access to. Can anyone tell me how to do this if i have to buy a new pc i will but i work on my ancestry and have many records pics etc i need to at least get off of it before it becomes a paper weight. The irony is I just bought an external hard drive and been so busy i hadnt moved everthing over lol the story of my life please help

ntldr.dll is usually half the reason why Windows XP cannot be booted into. Luckily, it can be accessed through CD or USB, just snag yourself a copy of the .dll file and copy it to the CD/USB and boot from that on the Pavillion. It should boot up properly and you'll be able to get the files.
