SB Audigy SE... I just got one and I am NOT happy.
Actually I only got it for the AUX_IN connector tu use with my Tv tuner. Intel figured the CD_IN and AUX_In connecters were not required for their new "desktop boards" and I could not get sound from it. The SB Audigy SE has one... TV Tuner works.
It's the "scratching sound" that bothers me most, seems to be quite common with Creative soundcards. I get the sounds mainly from my front left speaker. Front right also. It usually comes when an MP3 starts (Winamp) playing (not while it is playing). Verry annoying. Lound also, no matter the sound volume, the scratch sounds the same.
The thing is, I've been using the onboard audio since october. Not once did I get that scratching sound. Same computer setup, same speakers, onboard audio works fine, Creative gets the "digital-scratching" sound.
I've also tested the TV tuner audio with a very, very old sound card (1999). Just to see if audio actually works. Same PCI slot the Creative is in now. No scratching sound...
I've installed the drivers included on the CD. Also, updated to latest.
I've also searched the Creative troubleshooters. Seems to be a well-documented but could not find anything reasonable there. Yeah, the sound card is close to the graphics card (1 empty slot inbetween) but they don't include many. "Remove all unnecessary hardware". Joke, right?
Any ideas?
