Ntldr is missing windows 2000 pro

Dell optiplex 260 suddenly has stop error. Thought hard drive was bad but it works fine in another dell pc. Tried installing a 320gb new ide drive and install windows from original w2000 disk then started getting ntldr missing error message. Tried installing/formaing w2000 from another w2000 installation disk but still get the same error upon booting. Is mother board bad?? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Enter your BIOS and set your DVD/CD drive as primary boot.
