I recently acquired a few computers complete with Xp Pro licensing that I want to revamp and give to some families in my area who can't afford to buy one but I don't want to pass on bad hardware.
What's the best free hardware test application available for WinXp?
To test hardware before even installing XP, you could always run a Linux Live CD, such as Ubuntu, on it to see if everything works. All you have to do is download the ISO, burn it to CD, and boot from CD.
I don't want to push these machines to their limits I just want something I can use as a diagnostic tool. Something similar to TechTool for Macs but preferrably free.
I have an older build of a Linux Live CD stored somewhere but I'd prefer a standalone app I can run as needed. Anything other than what's above that I can use?
