"Vista Capable" class action lawsuit

People bought low spec machines with "Vista Capable" stickers on them and now are suing. Another frivilous lawsuit. These low end machines ARE capable of running Vista. Sure, not the eye candy Aero. But a cheap upgrade of the video card/RAM would solve that problem.

Microsoft chose to add Aero to enhance the Vista experience. Just because your PC doesn't have enough hp to run it, you shouldn't whine about not "getting the full Vista experience." Aero is just a toy/enhancement that just happens to be only available to people with more powerful machines. Would they be happier if MS dumbed down their OS to the lowest common denominator? So everyone could have the SAME experience no matter what their hardware is.

The judge who allowed this case to be certified as a class action should be removed from the bench.

I think the issue is more a case of consumers not knowing that there'd be so many versions of Vista at so many different price points ranging from $89 to $300 and that some of these versions have enhancements not available on cheaper versions of Vista. Those internal MS emails really are just smoke and mirrors and semantics. If someone buys a $12,000 Kia Sportage SUV; they're buying an "offroad capable" machine. They shouldn't get to sue Kia Motors because their $12,000 SUV doesn't perform as many off-road tasks as a $40,000 Land Rover.

Bottom line is they bought machines that are Vista-capable. And if they wanted to drop $200-$300 on a more expensive version of Vista, then it seems that dropping $60 on a better graphics card (which would drastically improve their entire PC experience anyway) isn't a huge deal.

Now, if MS didn't reveal the fact that there'd be so many versions and price points for various Vista SKU's BEFORE coming out with this "Vista Capable" sticker, then maybe the class action suit has validity.
