I also got the 64-bit version of Vista which is sitting in my disk box.
But, when I go to Rightclick--> Computer, it shows all 4.0GB. Vista's "experience index" benchmarker raised my rating from 5.4 to 5.9. So, obviously, Vista detects my 4GB. Should I still install 64-bit Vista? Is my memory not being fully utilized, but just being fully reported?
To my knowledge the SP1 patch just made it so that 32-bit recognizes the RAM is there and reports it as being there but still cannot access all of it.
Correct. You still need 64 bit. Nothing has changed except that sp 1 reports that 4 gig is there. It still can't use it all.
