I just ordered 2+ GB and I have 4 total now.

I also got the 64-bit version of Vista which is sitting in my disk box.

But, when I go to Rightclick--> Computer, it shows all 4.0GB. Vista's "experience index" benchmarker raised my rating from 5.4 to 5.9. So, obviously, Vista detects my 4GB. Should I still install 64-bit Vista? Is my memory not being fully utilized, but just being fully reported?

Thanks

To my knowledge the SP1 patch just made it so that 32-bit recognizes the RAM is there and reports it as being there but still cannot access all of it.

Damn! That's pointless!

Okay. Gonna install 64-bit Vista tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Correct. You still need 64 bit. Nothing has changed except that sp 1 reports that 4 gig is there. It still can't use it all.

As a footnote, what motherboard do you have? There are some boards that cannot use all 4GB even if they support a 64bit CPU
