COPY HDD in linux

Hello,i want to copy all the programmes from my desktop, operating on linux to my poratble USB HDD so that i can use them on the move with my laptop.iS IT POSSIBLE

Well.. thanks...I would like to know how am i supposed to do this copying thing.I have a HP laptop operating on win xp but the data and programmes that i wish to copy from my desktop runs on linux.I have bought a transcend USB HDD 500 gb for the same

Well, you can just push the data onto a USB drive and your HP laptop should read it just fine (unless the USB is in ext format)

As for the programs, there won't be any transferring of those. You will need to reinstall them (if you were running them on a guest or under WINE), or a Windows comparable.
