Could I get some input on installing Vista 64 bit please?

My hardware is a

AMD 6000 with 4 gig of ram
Western Digital Raptor 150 GB Sata (main Drive)
Western Digital 500 GB (data Drive)
BFG 8800 GT 512 Video Card
LG 26 " Flatron Monitor 1920*1200 5ms

I use mostly for gaming and am currently obsessed with Hellgate London. I want to try DX10

I know a lot of people might think I am nuts to upgrade just for DX10 But I will if it works / performs well. I hear a lot of complaints about Vista but seems mostly from people with nearly obsolete or very borderlin hardware. So if anyone is running hardware similar to what I have posted please reply

I have amd 6400+
4 gigs ocz ati crossfire certified ram
wd 160 bg drive x2
sapphire hd3650

I dont know what my problem was, but i would restart every 5 to 30 minutes with all ram installed, none of the sticks are faulty, when vista formated one of my drives, it somehow became "this disk will fail soon" and now it is corrupt and unrepairable. Slowing down the ram speeds and timings delays the restarts to 3+ hours, as does just using 2 sticks.
I dont know what to suggest, i wish i could lend you my copy before you buy it just in case :S

I would just say make sure your ram's exact model number is in the motherboard support list, and check to see if nvidia drivers have issues with vista64 bit, since you dont have an ati card you wont have the same video card drivers issue I had.

Il try installing again when ati gets fixed drivers and service pack 2 come out, if that doesnt fix it, im selling it and waiting for Windows 7 -.-

Those are the exact harddrives I have. I had no trouble installing Vista 64 even with 4 gig of RAM in the system, though apparently that issue varies from mobo to mobo. I have an EVGA 780i mobo; I'd suggest pulling 2 gigs of RAM out for the install then putting them back in. My RAM is OCZ Vista certified and I'm running an EVGA 9800GTX gpu; the drivers seem to be fine for Vista 64.

I've had no problems whatsoever running Vista, aside from some issues with The Witcher that were cleared up fairly quickly by uninstalling and reinstalling my video card drivers.

My old computer was an AMD 2.0ghz chip with a pair of 8600GT cards in SLI and it slowed down noticeably with Vista 32.
