Hey guys, my laptop is getting mighty slow, and i was thinking about doing a clean install of xp on it. That said, i don't want to go out and buy another copy of windows xp, so i was wondering if there's any way to basically re-install windows and get rid of everything without having to have a new cd-key. Also, could i do a clean install of windows and then call microsoft for a new key since it's the same computer running xp?

wheres your sticker with the key on it. Should have been one on the laptop when you bought it.

Yeah it is, but isn't that the cd-key already used on the current copy of windows xp?

Yes, but you'll use the same key when you reinstall it. At worst, you'll have to call Microsoft to get it activated again.
