I recently Built a New Computer. I purchased a OEM version of Vista Ultimate 64-bit from Newegg. I've installed Vista but once it gets past the loading screen, BSOD quickly shows up (so quick it can't be read) and the computer restarts. I restarted the machine countless times and no luck.
I installed a copy of Windows XP Home Edition that I had from my previous computer and that installs and boots right up without any problems but Vista just won't boot. My Specs are.....
I'm really at a loss for word's, I don't know what to do anymore. I'm not sure if its a hardware issue with RAM or GPU. I've Tried takeing out a stick of ram and putting a different GPU in and still nothing. I've also removed the MOBO battery for a good 6 hours and resest the CMOS Jumper. The only thing I can think of is that the Vista disk it self is not working properly
So it looks like you have 2 x 2 gig for a total of 4 gig RAM, correct?
There is a bug affecting some motherboards that cause Vista to fail to install fully if more than 3 gig ram is installed. The fix is install with 2 gig and then to run the fix linked to below before putting back the extra 2 gig.
If you can install Vista with 2 gig then try this fix.
