Urgent : Ubuntu Not Loading

Hi, Merry Christmas...

I was having Ubuntu 10.04 and did update the system once. But this morning there were some security updates and thought of running tem before starting studies.

After installing updates, the system restarted. Now when I select Ubuntu from the duel boot screen it doesn't load it. I see some NTFS (a line or 2) printed in the screen and then the computer restarts.

What I have is Ubuntu Install Withing Windows using wubi.

I would like to have some advice on what to do to recover. i got notes in the Ubuntu drive, how should I recover them if Ubuntu is not recoverable.

Hi, first of all avoid wubi at all cost As you have seen now its a pain to recover from a failure!

particularily the part about running chkdsk may be useful.

You may also try to mount the wubi image from within windows with this:

I used Ext2Read to get the content out of the drive, thatnks again and merry christmas.
