More Information

It¡¦s 3 years longer since I bought a 19 inch LCD monitor for a time.
I have my high level request of LCD panel and color, because I always take
long time to test and online with my system and LCD,
The better panel source and circuit design LCD can use for long term with
better color level presented.

That¡¦s why I took lot time and money to by my 19 inch LCD last time; I
bought the SHARP panel OEM product with Taiwan brand. That moment they
only have high level panel on 19inch, the cost is high to over 800USD. That
moment a 17 inch LCD only cost 350USD average price.

This time I did take it serious to upgrade the LCD, because of the HD
resolution request, I study for a time, I bought DELL 2407WFP and ACER AL
2623W early or late, these 2 products have different advantage, but we put
it down and discus DELL 2707WFP first.

DELL is aggressive on LCD monitor field these years, and they did have many
high level and high quality LCD with big size,
Especially the hot products 2405/2407WFP wide screen monitors, the better
panel with better design, shape quality and price value did have the
advantage then many other LCD makers.

The last one I got on hand is the DELL 2707WFP, it takes more then 1000USD
street price, but it¡¦s not that expensive compare with other 27 inch LCD.

The most important point is the shape and design with high quality, the
whole use experience is really far from most of other existing LCD monitors.

Product box is huge.

Let¡¦s open the cage to release this treasure.
Big colored product menu, also have CD menu file below, and DVI/D-
SUB/Power cables, etc.
The special point is the blue clean cloth with DELL logo. That¡¦s for special
shape design use to keep it shine as a mirror.
http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/9837/2707wfp02yc4.jpg

The DELL 2707WFP itself.
The resolution is 1920*1200, compare with 24/26 inch LCD,
The range between every dot is bigger, but that makes bigger words to see
document and websites.
http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/5403/2707wfp03nj3.jpg

Take a look on front side.
The shape design is majestic, also have great design quality.
Whole silk surface treatment metal case cover and mirror treatment base
design, you have to see to feel and believe the absolute different quality.

http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/6006/2707wfp06cv1.jpg

The basement and metal stand design can turn 40 degree left and right, 21
degree up and 7 degree down.
http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/207/2707wfp07kc4.jpg

The bottom of the panel, excellent heat spread holes design.
If these holes design on up side with bad internal protection, that will full of
dust inside LCD with long time.
http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/9388/2707wfp08um4.jpg

OSD buttons.
These is also advantage design of DELL, full function design buttons to make
user adjust easier.
http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/2276/2707wfp09ct5.jpg

Comes with the blue light when works.
http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/7402/2707wfp10qb0.jpg

Mirror surface design ¡V DELL mark.
http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/3789/2707wfp11mu3.jpg

Turn around to see the back.
Black hest spread holes design did have the powerful and strong shape
feeling.
http://img403.imageshack.us/img403 [...] p12iu8.jpg

The heat spread design is good.
Different direction holes, better inside design to prevent dust get inside.
http://img403.imageshack.us/img403 [...] p13ch6.jpg

Stand design, can rise and down the LCD.
Good design and material, even the big panel as 27 inch can be easy handled.
http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/3356/2707wfp14ag5.jpg

Back IO ports.
Start from left side: USB/ Card reader/ S-Video/ Composite Video/ VGA/ DVI-D
(with HDCP)
http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/8027/2707wfp15oi0.jpg

Right side
Power/ Speaker Power
Whole multi safety logo and made in China.
http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/4871/2707wfp16um0.jpg

DELL features: Built-in multi card reader.
http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/4172/2707wfp17yo7.jpg

Use SpyderPRO to correct the real color.
DELL default color, my personal feel the luminance and contrast is too high.
After OSD adjust and SpyderPRO color correction, the color is really
impressive.
Of course, I believe the basic color range still depends on the panel and
internal circuit design.
http://img403.imageshack.us/img403 [...] p18hd9.jpg

The test picture after adjust the color.
Because of 92% color range, gray level and color scale is better the 2407
and many LCD, the cloths in back of the lady is also visible.
http://img403.imageshack.us/img403 [...] p19iy1.jpg

I have highly request on color range and gray level scale,
When I adjust and review my photos, good and rich color can give me more
correct info to do after works.
http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/7153/2707wfp20fl4.jpg

http://img413.imageshack.us/img413 [...] p21sd5.jpg

Use this DELL 2707WFP after used the DELL 2407WFP,
I can fell the quality improved very much, of course the 2407WFP is also very
good compare with other LCD makers and with good price.
But 2707WFP is able to challenge high quality design and over the limited I¡¦ve
ever seen.

Silk surface treatment/Mirror surface base/Special heat spread design/Great
OSD buttons/92% color range/Many angle adjust/Multi media input
design/DELL fully warranty.
These advantages is rich enough and shows that DELL 2707WFP is the
leading edge products.

Once we really want to picky on this great product, if this monitor can have
90 degree rotate design as 2407, will make 2707WFP more perfect.
Whole design on 2707WFP and reasonable price make it no competitors on
the same segment market this moment, once the cost lower in the near
future, we believe that will be really popular in the market as 2407 before.
These 2 years, DELL LCD products pick up as a rising star and give the power
users more better options from mainstream to high-end level, that¡¦s good co
consumers.

About the color present, 2407/2707 use same panel as S-PVA from Samsung,
but maybe 2707 use better circuit design or better 92% color range,
Although the same panel, the 2707WFP final present result is better then
2407 after color adjustment, the total color is closer to reality. 2407/2707 is
close to cold blue tone and ACER IPS is close to warm yellow tone,
PVA/IPS shows different color range present, but there is one thing we can
absolutely sure of beyond doubt, the visible angle/Gray level/Color scale is
really hundred miles better then mainstream 22 inch TN panel LCD to fulfill our
picky eyes.

I study and use some 24/26/27 inch monitors in these 2 months, DELL 2707
WFP is the best indeed!
If someone is interested on this sharing contain, I will take my time to have
color range present or OSD function adjust, and share the color adjust file for
you to have better vision soon!

Dell 2707....

Would it be possible to post the SpyderPro settings to optimize the colors on the 2707 just in case I decide to buy one? Currently the BenQ FP241ZW is on my short list.

Dude, this thread is from May 2007; Dell mostly discontinued it due to slow sales.

BTW, I bought a 26" NEC LCD2690WUXi. I thinking about buying another one.

There is no such thing as a stupid question.
But there are stupid people.
