Internet Explorer Hanging!!!

This is driving me crazy. I've been running Vista ultimate for about 7 months with no problems. But lately, my windows explorer has been hanging . I dont remember installing anything new or making any changes. When I enter a website, or click a link, or click back, or reloaded, ect... it freezes for about 30 seconds. This sometimes causes both of my processors to go to 100% too and heat up very quickly. I dont know if this is Vista or something else. I am using a custom built machine but I dont think that's the issue because its been working great. does anyone know why my IE is hanging everytime i try to load a page and how to fix it? Your help is appreciated. Thanks
