its okay to learn a bit of Visual basic in some ways and reasons for just leranig the ins and outs of software and how do software interact with one another in the hardware sort can you give me some tips or tutorials on how to really start how to use VBA for a nobbie like me?

I learned from books and forums. To start out I would suggest getting a book like "VBA for Dummies" - it assumes you have no knowledge of programming so anyone can get started with it. Once you've mastered the techniques in that book I would say you can then graduate to books that offer advanced techniques. Also, once you are familiar with the basic VBA structure start reading the posts in forums - you'll pick up a lot over time from them.
