Hi all,

I'm having instability issues with IE7. On certian web pages, eg itv-f1, I get:

"Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site http://<Web site>.com. Operation aborted."

This has only occured in the last week or so and seemingly accompanies a slow up in xp boot from the login screen. See thread here: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/ [...] t#t1807897

I found this article on the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/927917

But I don't really understand what it means.

I've tried resetting the IE advanced settings and made sure I have the latest version of Java other than that I'm completely stuck and I'd really appreciate some help.

Jeremy

I slipstreamed a CD with SP3,IE7,dx10,WMP11 and wiped the drive and did a fresh install, the computer was faster than it ever was before, but I couldn't open any links in my E-Mail no matter who it was from, and I got the same errors thet you got if the site was a slow one, if the site was fast things were OK, I reinstalled XP PRO SP2 to get rid of the problem

The problem seems fairly recent. I did put SP3 on but promptly took it off again because I thought it was causing me some problems. I have still got this problem but it seems to have reduced slightly. I'm unsure as to why as I haven't changed anything.

Still looking for help with slow boot times. I am trying to avoid a reinstall at the moment.
