Looking for at least 40-50 FPS at 1280 x 1024.

My setup:

Asus P5B Deluxe
Intel Core 2 Duo e6600 @ Stock (For now, anyway)
GeIL Ultra 2GB 800MHz DDR2 4-4-4-12
Powercolor Radeon X1950XT 256MB
Samsung SpinPoint 500GB SATA2 HDD
Cooler Master iGreen 500W PSU

With my current setup and my previews X1900XTX(Stock) i played the game at 1024x768+4xAA+HDR with 30~40FPS.
As your CPU is much better than mine i think you would be able to play it at 1280x1024+HDR+4xAA but i can't promise you more than 30~35FPS, but probably 40~50FPS at 1024x768+4xAA+HDR!

bottom line i doubt it, i had a 4200+( OC'd at 2.5Ghz ), 7800gtx, xfi xtrememusic, XPPro and i would get 45FPS @ 1280x1024 without HDR and 23-25PS with, im on vista 64-bit now my new build and i get 38-40FPS @ 1680x1050 without HDR, i darent even try it tbh as anything below 33FPS is unplayable especially for the high performance cars

Besides why would you want to? HDR looks crap in it, there is way too much of it, i actually like it better without HDR :)

Not cool man!
The game's world looks fantastic with HDR!
Combine it with 4xAA & it looks even more natural.
By the way the HDR has not much performance affect on X1900 & X1950Series as i have already tested this with X1900XTX.

I guess its down to personal choice, any of my mates that have it turned off too, if you like it cool, i did have it on for some of the TDU beta, seriously didnt like it, i like natural HDR, like the HDR in lost coast( i know its more bloom than proper HDR ) but i find it unobtrusive, i hated the HDR level in Rainbow Six Vegas, way too over done

I used the 4200+ PC with the beta and a 19inch 1280x1024 LCD, on vista now with a 22" Samsung widescreen its more important that i run at native res 1680x1050, i dunno maybe it would look better at that res

I think its a cracking game to be honest, i liked the vehicle stuff in GTA and TDU is basically that, and the online races are fun except when the tool running the match gets knocked out early and decides to reset the match, grrrr, happened me with my first online game in the non beta version last week( i just got my build together recently )

Another interesting thing that i found was AF!
The difference in game's quality with out AF & with 16xAF would be night and day!(at least for me) 8O
Try it your self!(take some image and compare)
But the game really needs some good FPS to become fully enjoyable, so i found out that i rather play the game at 1024x768+HDR+4xAA+16xAF with good FPS instead of 1280x1024 or 1600x1200! :?
On the other hand, the game became a little lagy at the end. :( Seems like it needs more than 2GB memory if you discover all the roads on the map!(and this is where i uninstalled the game  )

Ill try the AF at 16( i dunno if my GPU can even handle that ), i dont even knoiw what its at tat the moment tbh, running at 1680x1050 for me the need for AA is reduced, but ill check the performance, if it goes below 35FPS ill change it back :), i ran some checks with my CPU @ 3Ghz last night and seems ok so far, so that might give me another FPS

Ill hopefully get an 8800 GTX in the next two months, so should be good for increasing the eye candy
