The two Marvell 88E8053 Lan chips on my ASUS P5W DH Deluxe motherboard are very hot and I'm wondering if this is normal. I can still keep my finger on them but if they get any hotter it's gonna start hurting and I'd have to say they are the hottest components on my MB.
Why is this? Is it a problem?
For your info I don't think they are actually in use since I don't use LAN and last time I checked it was deactivated in my BIOS.
For the time being I've put my redundant ASUS fan over them to try and keep the temp down.
Any thoughts?
