Hello. My installation of Windows XP MCE 2005 recently went kaput. I tried to repair it, but the Windows installer said it was too corrupted to be repaired.
I formatted the partition, but when trying to install, it gives me the following error message:
Setup cannot copy the file: kodac_dc.icm
And then it gives me the options of retrying, skipping the file, or quitting.
Retrying simply gives the same error message, and if I skip the file it does the same thing for another file (and another and another...)
Is my hard drive bad? The only thing about that is that I tried to install on another hard drive I had on the computer and it gives the same error (on the same file, no less).
Thank you in advance for your help.

You can try cleaning the wndows disk. Try loading the disk up with one DIMM RAM in slot one. In BIOS adjust the RAM voltage to MFG. specs. Bump the voltage up a notch or two. You may have a damaged disk. Try a different disk and see if it will load without errors.

Thanks for your reply. I've fixed the situation. Turns out I had a bad RAM stick.

Thats interesting that a bad memory module would fail at the same file each time.
