Hey,

I would like to format my Linux Filesystem harddrive to NTFS so it can be used as a slave in Vista.

My bios detects it and when I go into Manage in Vista it also detects it but I can't do anything with it...

Is there any software I can use to force a format?

Start, type CMD in the search box. Then in the dialog type FORMAT *: Where the * is the letter of the drive you want to reformat.

I would love to do that but, the drive doesn't show as mounted.

The only way I can view it is through the manage window...

OK - Plan B is to create a bootable disc (CD/DVD/Floppy), boot to that and do the same thing from outside the OS.

If you like, check out http://www.ultimatebootcd.com It's free - Download and burn as an iso image into a CD. Lots of good tools on that.

I'm sorry I'm not following Plan B.

I'm downloaded some software called DriveWipe or something that you can boot from... would that work?

Check this. Shows you how to burn an ISO image. http://www.ubcd4win.com/burn.htm
