Hello,
I am painfully new to Linux. Before my Vista disappeared from my computer, I used the Windows Media Center with a tv tuner card to watch and record tv programs. I am trying to figure out what to use now that I only have Ubuntu 10.10

More about : tuner software ubuntu

I'm sure that there are several programs useful for that purpose, MythTV is one that I know of, but I'm sure a google search will reveal many more.

First of all a better site to ask this on might be http://ubuntuforums.org/

http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Tv-Tuner-Card-Work-on-Ubu...

is a guide to installing it for the Hardy Haron which is version 7 i think. Shouldn't be too different. if you want to use the software that came with your tv tuner just run it through wine.

Hope this helps!

MythTV should work just fine. It seems to be the most recommended. There's pre-made versions of the popular distributions with MythTV already installed as well, such as MythBuntu and MythDora.
