Vista: HDD Continually Working

I installed Vista 32bit and I have a raptor 74gb drive as C:.

Even when I am doing nothing at all, the HDD just keeps working and working. What is it doing? When I look in resource monitor all I see taking up HDD resources are a bunch of items labelled "System".

The HDD just keeps grinding and grinding and there is nothing running at all (except Vista of course).

Vista indexes everything on your hard drive for faster searching
  2. Just leave it for a while and should be fine.
