Hi,

I am unable to load control panel. Everything else on my computer seems to be working fine. Internet, my computer, ect. ect.

But for some reason Control panel wont load. When I click on it, a blank window appears for about 10 seconds, then closes by itself.

I have done multiple spyware and virus scans so I don't think that's a problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

Likely your registry is hosed. Have you run any registry repair or cleaner on the system? That would do it. Try a system restore. If that doesn't work, save all you important data and reinstall the OS.

What program would you recommend I use?

If you have already run a Registry Repair program, that is the likely reson for the Control Panel being corrupted. Are you using Vista 32 or vista 64?

I have had the same thing happen. The control panel was not accessible due to a registry repair progam I ran. This happened twice. On the first occasion, I was able to do a system restore and recovery access to my Control panel. The second time, I had to reinstall the OS.

Every time I try a system restore this happens:

The Writer experienced a transient error. If the backup process is retried, the error may not reoccur. (0x800423F3)

Edit: I'm using vista 64 bit.

Sorry for the double post.

Few register cleaners are tested with Vista 64. You likely hosed your registry. A clean install was my only solution.

Ouch. Have you tried running it in 'safe mode'?
