OK, so I have Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit upgraded motherboards from an Nvidia nForce 650i SLI (ASUS P5N-E SLI) to an ASUS P5N-D SLI. I also added a new video card and new RAM to this new motherboard. Needless to say, the ethernet card would not let me on my home network with this new motherboard. Everything else was fine up until I went ahead and switched BACK to my old motherboard. Everything went back the way it was, except for the new RAM and new video card, which I stuck on my old MB Now, when Vista loads, the green loading bar freezes and I get the BSOD. My usual message is

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Technical Information:

*** STOP: 0x00000000A

Now, the thing is, when I pop in my Vista recovery disk from Velocity Micro and I boot from the CD drive, I get the same issue (or one that says: "SPT_FILE_CORRUPT). One time, it may have even gotten to the screen to format and reinstall Vista, and then the BSOD came up.

Is this a hardware issue? I don't understand it. Please help :-\

You upgraded motherboards and didn't do a clean install??

Well... I guess you won't do that again, anyhow...

You can try to do a full system repair:

But if that doesn't work, you're looking at a clean install anyhow.

How much RAM total is installed?

Did you confirm the new RAM is set to mfg. specs? Particularly the voltage?

Give us all the details on this new RAM
