Hi,

My iPAQ 4150 started to run slower and slower, needing stylus-enabled
resets to get it going and then ground to a halt and would not reset -
the boot progress line would stop right at the end and the system would
freeze.

After a while I just left the battery out for a few hours and I was back
in business - I reinstalled all my apps and the unit was working fine. I
then remembered that HP had released a couple of wifi updates for the
PDA and that I had installed them in the past so I downloaded them, but
after loading the first one I lost all ability to see any wifi points. I
tried to remove the update, but it kept reporting that tiacxwln.dll
could not be removed as it was in use or read only. The other update
wants to replace this file but can't because it's in use.

I have tried removing the update in 'flight mode' but this doesn't work
- am I faced with another hardware reset and reinstalling everything again?

Thanks

Rename the file using File Manager, then run the uninstall utility,
then soft reset and delete the renamed file.

Thanks Ed - that got rid of the file - now I just have to work out why
my wifi is still not working!

Try doing a soft reset after going to flight mode. Then remove the update.
