Configuration for what? Which distribution?

Do you want to know what hardware is installed in the computer? Several common command line tools to do this are lspci, lsusb, and lsmod.

By comparing the output of those commands with your known equipment you can determine what the system has detected.

In a terminal, as sudo, type: "lshw" or "dmidecode" + lspci and lsusb.
It will show you a list of details.
