HI,

I am facing two problems with my lap top hp campac presario 2100.
1.The loptops battery to be changed. I dont know how many batteries are there. Any cmos battery there like any other pc. Pl advice. What would be the cost. and the model number
2. The hard disk requires replacement. I want to know the model number or exact type of hard disk would be fit in. and the cost thereof.
3. Windows xp home edition has been preloaded in the laptop. How to take a copy of the os and copy in the new hard disk. I have the serial number etc for the OS.

1.The main laptop battery has to be replaced by an exact replacement and those model specs should be on the battery itself, same thing goes for the M/B battery or CMOS battery, however unless you have to keep resetting time, date, and the CMOS setup, your M/B battery should be OK, but replacing it is a little more complicated its probably behind the keyboard panel, some disassembly required to get to it.

2. Again the specs for the HDD will be listed on it and it is normally on the bottomside of the laptop under a removeable cover, however today there are much larger sizes available to you, just make sure you get one with the same interface, probably IDE.

3. As far as I know all laptops come with a set of restore CDs, Did you not get a restore disk set of CDs with the laptop? That would be the best route to go reinstalling the OP/SYS from the restore CDs that way all the necessary M/B drivers will be there.
