Cannot move, resize, or close any window I open.

I cannot move, resize, or close any window I open.

It does not matter if I open internet explorer, the calculator, my computer, my documents, etc. I cannot resize, move, or close it. I have to open task manager and select "End Task" on the windows I want to close, but then I cannot close the task manager. I have to restart to close the task manager.

This just started happening the morning of 7/13. I did a system restore to 7/10, and this did not fix the problem.

Can anyone offer me some assistance with this?

run the computer in safe mode and see if you still have the problem (press f8 on boot up)

if it goes away then you know that one of your programs/driver is causing the problem it could even be a sign of a virus or trojan.

ok well, in safe mode it doesnt load anything but default drivers, and no thrid party software starts up.

so it sounds like theres something wrong with your actual windows installation, you can try a repair install from the disk, or use a different windows CD with your current license key.

also check for registry entries that might affect the minimize/maximise and close buttons.
