So, I pulled my old rocker out of the attic (Core 2 duo E7200, P5KPL, 8500GT silent, 2x 250gb sata disks) and am trying to install win2000, after the first setup completes and the computer restarts I get the "Error loading operating system" message.

I have my ubuntu boot directory and one of its data partitions on one drive, the other has 150gb of data (for ubuntu) and a 100gb partition of NTFS to put win2000 on. I currently set the windows drive as the primary drive in the bios.

But why is there the error and how can I fix it?

Use Google to try to find drivers. (But they may not be available.) Read the manual for your computer or motherboard to find out how to change BIOS settings.

Basically, this computer is too modern to easily run Windows 2000 (although with a little work it may be possible - or it may not); you would be better off with Windows 7 or 8.
