i think i will give you a internal network IP and a separate Ineternetwork IP even Cheap Modem will do that, i think this is what your asking, they often have a Webinterface if you can plug it directly into your PC, and tap in RUN something like 192.168.1.1 and it might give you a list of options.
if you are lokking for a static IP adress then ring up your ISP
I am completely new when it comes to use of modems and routers, so I seriously need some "Help for Dummies". I have got a Speedtouch 585 modemrouter, and an ADSL connection. To my surprise, I can only connect one computer at a time. The company that sold it to me tells me that it is possible to configure it so that multiple computers can connect, but they don't want to tell me how (want to send their own men, of course). Can anyone tell me (as simple as possible ) how to do it.. You don't need to start with accessing the modem menu, I have figured THAT out
