I'm running Win XP 32bit and want DX10 graphics. I have trying to read up on Vista to see if it's worthwhile now but with a new OS coming out soon what's the point? Anyone with Vista 64 bit?

Vista 64 here and 8 gig RAM. Vista is a good OS. 64 is great. You can use a lot of RAM. It's a popular choice with gamers and enthusiasts now and no major issues are being reported that I know of.

Gaming benchmarks have equalized with XP. Driver problems are over, so long as you don't need to run really old devices (or really old software either) It's pretty, it's more secure, it's rock stable for me, as a fairly heavy gamer - it's an upgrade and that's that. Don't let marketing geniuses at Apple or the valley centric know nothing me too tech bloggers tell you otherwise.

OTOH There is no compelling reason to drop XP except for DX 10 and games are being very slow to implement it. So, there is no reason not to wait for 7, I guess. Only problem is 7 will almost certainly be delayed and you'll prolly want to wait for SP1 LOL. So it may be a few years actually before you go to 7.

It's a free choice. If you're feeling frisky go for it, you won't be sorry. If you're not then hold on a while longer.
