how are widescreens measured?

i would like to know whats the actual screen size for wide screens i know reg lds are measured corner to appostie corner but how are wide screens measured

what are the actual viewable dimensions for a 19" and a22"

19" Standard - About 11.8" x 14.8"

19" Widescreen - About 10.2" x 15.9"

22" Widescreen - About 12" x 18.4"
