Hi guys, I recently (and accidentally) chose to compress all files when i did the disk clean-up. I now have tonssss of files on my computer the blue colored name and compressed. Are there any programs to scan my computer and decompress the files? It's very frustrating, i've tried all that i can do, and the only way i've found is to right click every file and choose to decompress.

ANY help and/or tips would be appreciated. Thank you very much in advance!

Open My Computer, right click the hard drive that you compressed and select properties, bottom of the General Tab uncheck "Compress drive to save disk space" , then probably Apply.

Not all of the files are compressed, so the box is unchecked already. Maybe if I checked it...applied...then unchecked/applied but yea that doesn't sound like anything I will try yet until I find no other options lol.

Its just compressed files.. no big deal as it doesn't really effect your computer. Chances are the files are already compressed.

You might have to go to each file and right click-properties, uncheck the compress.

If its a zip file, it might already be compressed and highlighted for that reason.

I read that compressed files have to be decompressed each time they're accessed, so if every file i have needs to be decompressed each time I use it, then i'd think it'd slow down processing speed, would it not? No one knows of a good program to decompress files on your PC?

EDIT: Also, if there's a way to use the search function to find all compressed files (and filter them out), that'd be awesome and easy to manipulate - let me know please! Thanks!
